The 2024 Nancy Lippincott Scholarship - $1,000

 

The Nancy Lippincott scholarship will help a Grenada County, Mississippi resident attend college (2 or 4-year), technical school, or an apprenticeship program. Please see the information below.

 

Geographic Location: Applicant must be a resident of Grenada County, Mississippi.

 

Selection Criteria: You must provide proof of acceptance to college, technical school, or an apprenticeship program. You must provide a 500-word or less essay describing the challenges you have overcome to move forward with your education.  The essay should be on the following theme: “What is the biggest obstacle I have overcome in life, and what did I learn from it?”  

 

Submission Process: Please submit your essay along with your name, mailing address, and proof of enrollment in a college, technical school, or apprenticeship program to Michael Maxey (email: michael@maxeys.org) or mail to the Marie Maxey Foundation, 5525 Talon Court, Fairfax, Virginia 22032.

 

Deadline for Submission: All submissions must be received by August 31, 2024.  Receipt of submissions will be confirmed by email.  All submissions will be reviewed, a winner selected, and a $1,000 scholarship awarded in September 2024. Please note that the scholarship check will be sent to the student's account at their college or technical school.
